(1) Senior Site Engineer- Architectural Trade


Job description
Works on a building project in the execution 
phase
  • Is in charge, depending on the size of the project 
of the architectural trade section or of part of a section
  • Sets objectives, in close collaboration with Site Supervisory staff, on technical, (choice of equipment), financial (forecast of expenditure) and human issues
  • Clearly defines and in great detail: the execution, schedule, technical options, drafting of documents etc., concerning the structural works section of the structure
  • Coordinates the architectural trade works (and gets them executed through in-house production or supervises them until handover, in accordance with the contract
  • Takes part in checking the works progress schedules and, if necessary, modifies them
  • Establishes management procedures for risks/opportunities
  • Prepares elements necessary to establish progress updates and budget status
  • Assists with site personnel management, with compliance with Health and Safety regulations (regular inspections) and the management of plant/equipment and materials.
  • Consults and designates suppliers, manages sub-contractors and sets up monitoring procedures.
  • He/she applies quality and safety procedures to the works.
  • Contributes to the Sustainable Development policy and raises awareness of it in staff.

(3) Project Engineer

Responsible for coordination of Engineering disciplines on both organizational and technical aspects during engineering and construction phases.

Position will be on a contract basis with a 100/20 rotation.

Main Activities and Responsibilities
- Monitor Contractor and subcontractor performance as the work progresses to insure that sound engineering skills are applied and that engineering procedures conform to Contract specifications, industry standards and good engineering practices.
- Actively manage the PMT engineering group, assist and advice discipline engineers and keep Project Manager updated on critical issues as well as any issues that may have a cost or schedule impact.
- Interacting with the Client's management team as well as contractors' management teams to ensure that project objectives, schedules and budgets are established and met.
- Review and initiate necessary actions on Contractor's proposed variations to those specified in the Contract.
- Participate in progress monitoring and reporting activities.
- Use solid people management and network abilities to establish a positive team spirit by inspiring project team members as well as that part of the organization supporting the project.
- Solid knowledge of the Oil & Gas sector, in particular EPCC solutions.
- Sound network of contacts across industry and key understanding of company project management principles - to establish project goals and ensure that these are communicated to, and understood by all participants in the Project Organization as well as in all supporting units.
Key Competencies
- Worked in a similar function on recent large construction projects.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience from major similar project.
- Track record of success.
- Good understanding of engineering and construction practices, specifications and industry practices and regulations.
- Proven understanding and application of skills in critical areas of site safety, quality management, contract administration, procurement and controls with respect to all aspects of construction.
- Clearly exhibited ability to develop good working relationships/become a team player.
- Possess oral and written English language skills required to function effectively within a project team, and to communicate with Project Management, Contractors and Sub-contractors.

Required Education and Experience

Mission

Manage the Mechanical Systems and the Project Quantities both for accounting purposes and progress measures ensuring correctness and accuracy of data and in compliance with company procedures and project requirements 
Tasks
  • Create and update the project bill of quantities in the form of a quantity record booklet according to active and passive invoicing procedures

  • Execute the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site.
  • Issue the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, write and send to Quality Control Supervisor non-conformances reports.
  • Check the preparation of foundations.
  • Check the correct preparation of reinforcements.
  • Check the certifications regarding element mixes, LASTM test, chemical analysis, grain size analysis.
  • Monitor atmospheric conditions during pouring operations.
  • Monitor correct curing operations.
  • Check the sampling operations (when required).
  • Review the laboratory examination results.
  • Check sub-grade dry density.
  • Check moisture content.
  • Check compression strength test.
  • Check after execution of casting.
  • Check materials quality (wire, fitting, etc.)
  • Verify special processes and the relevant workers qualifications.
  • Orderly collect, check and manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections carried out witnessing the tests, controls and inspections carried out.
  • Check the conformity with the Quality Control Plan and obtain the relevant documentation.
  • Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Quality Control Plans/Inspection Test Plans.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or any other related field of study.
