UNILAG: INVITATION FOR THE PRE-QUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS

INTRODUCTION

The University of Lagos wishes to invite reputable, seasoned and qualified contractors with proven track record an experience, to express interest in the construction of a foor-floor reinforced concrete frame structure for the School of Foundation Studies as well as some new high-rise building projects of a minimum of 8-floors as listed below:

PRE-QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

A.      Compulsory And Mandatory Requirements

i. Evidence of certificate of Incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)

ii. Audited and dully stamped accounts of your Company for the past three years

iii.  Evidence of tax clearance certificate for the past three (3) years (2012, 2013 and 2014)

iv.  Evidence of VAT registration

iv. Evidence of pension clearance from the Pension Commission (PENCOM)

v. Evidence of compliance with the statutory provision of  section6 (1-3) of the Industrial Training fund Amendment Act 2011; and

vi. Evidence of receipts of payment of the non-refundable pre- qualification fees at  the Unilag Cash Office or  a Bank Certified Cheque addressed to the University of Lagos

PLEASE NOTE THAT FAILURE TO PROVIDE ANY OF THE ITEMS INDICATED ABOVE WILL AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFY THE BIDDER

B.     OTHER REQUIREMENTS

i.                    List and source of the equipments to be used for the projects

ii.                  Indication of TECHNICAL AND Administrative staff strength with academic and professional qualifications and years of experience of key personnel available for the project

iii.                Bank reference from a reputable bank, and

iv.               Verifiable evidence of similar jobs successfully executed or being executed in Nigeria over the past five years, stating: type, cost and evidence of award and completion

COLLECTION OF DOCUMENTS

Pre-qualification forms shall be made available to interested companies on the presentation of the receipts issued at the Cash Office of the University in respect of the Pre-qualification execise from the office of:

                    The Director, Works and Physical Planning Department,

                     Commercial Road (Near Forte Petrol Station),

                     University of Lagos, Akoka.

SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS

The Pre-qualification Documents, neatly arranged, spiral bound and sealed in an envelope should be identified with the project contract number on the top left hand corner of the envelope and marked “PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR….( please state the specific project) and submitted not later than 3.00pm on June 29, 2015, to:

            c/o Council Affairs Office, 5^th Floor, Senate House

           University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos.

Bids will be opened, in the presence of all prospective contractors, immediately after the close of submission same day at the University Council Chambers. Attendance at the opening event is important.

Participation in the pre-qualification exercise  and any related process neither create any commitments nor establish any legal relationship with the University of Lagos. It is a precondition for further consideration of bid  in line with due process.
